A brief history of The Brandon Gift of Hope

It started in 2009, when Metropolitan Ministries brought their Holiday of Hope tent to Brandon (First Baptist Church of Brandon) for the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas. They came and set up the operations for the holiday events and many of the Brandon churches that had a great working relationship, through Feed the Bay, joined together to run the holiday tent with Metropolitan's guidance. 

We worked two years with Metropolitan Ministries before realizing the churches of the area could serve our community directly and decided to form The Brandon Gift of Hope. 

Since 2011 we have continued to partner with churches to provide toys and register people in the community to receive holiday toys and food. We have a hospitality area, a prayer chapel, a shopping area (where each guest selects gifts for the children they registered for), a gift wrap area, wagon wheelers, and then they are presented with a gift card for a holiday meal. 

 The Brandon Gift of Hope is a multi-church community outreach Christmas event that invites everyone to come be a part of what Christ is doing in our area.
